My son has been coming to Armenta Academy for over a year now. Ayaan loves to work with Mr. Smith. He is very kind, patient, and really connects well with Ayaan and other students. He has made reading comprehension and reading novels very easy for Ayaan. Now Ayaan loves reading which was his least favorite activity. I am very happy to see this change in Ayaan. I am so grateful to Armenta Learning Academy and Mr. Smith. I highly recommend this Academy!!!

Since beginning tutoring with Armenta Learning Academy, we have noticed a change in Lexi’s problem solving abilities and attitude towards school work. Ms. De Silva‘s patience and caring approach to tutoring has fostered a new appreciation for learning. Before our eyes, we have seen Lexi’s confidence grow in correlation with the progression of her tutoring sessions. We found out about Mrs. Armenta through a friend and it was the best referral we could have received. Our daughter was struggling with reading and math. After the first 3 weeks we noticed a huge improvement in her ability to read and comprehend. Our daughters self esteem and confidence grew as well. Mrs. Armenta has a very warm personality and she makes sure both the parent and child feel right at home. Mrs. Armenta took the time to learn about our daughter and spotlight her strengths and focus on her weaknesses in a fun and open environment. I would highly recommend Mrs. Armenta and her staff!!!

Elliot has been working so hard with Mr. Ramirez and is always so excited for his Armenta days. We are so proud of our son, Eli! He has made tremendous strides in learning at Armenta. He has worked very hard on his fine motor, communication, and literacy skills. Eli is so happy and joyful both at home and at school. Armenta Learning Academy is a wonderful school! Our family is so thankful and appreciative of the amazing teachers at Armenta. We came to Armenta Learning Academy through a recommendation from a friend whose daughter had previously attended the school. Our son, Nolan, who is five years old, has had some difficulty managing his emotions and calming himself in certain situations. He is a very sweet and loving child, but we were concerned that some of his reactions during difficult times might lead to negative labeling, something we unfortunately experienced when he was just two years old. Nolan attended Armenta Learning Academy once a week for two hours over the course of three months. His sessions were with Mrs. Harms on Fridays. We are incredibly grateful to both Mrs. Harms and Mrs. Julie Armenta for being accommodating to our schedule and their flexibility, allowing Nolan to attend the sessions without having to miss any school. Nolan always looked forward to his time at Armenta with Mrs. Harms. She was consistently kind, patient, and supportive, and he genuinely enjoyed her company. Since starting at Armenta Learning Academy, Nolan has shown significant improvement in his ability to regulate his emotions. He now has a much faster and more effective way of calming himself, which we attribute to the dedicated support he received at the academy. One noticeable change is that he does not get as frustrated when things don't go his way, a behavior that used to occur frequently. In just three months, Nolan has made remarkable progress in his self-regulation skills. While we understand that this is just the beginning of a long journey, Armenta Learning Academy has provided him with a solid foundation to continue developing these essential skills. The improvement in Nolan's emotional regulation has been a tremendous relief for our family, and we feel confident that he is on a positive path thanks to the nurturing and supportive environment at Armenta. We are thankful for the positive impact that Armenta Learning Academy has had on Nolan. It has not only helped him manage his emotions better but has also given us hope and assurance for his future. The academy's individualized approach and compassionate staff have made a significant difference in Nolan's life.

My daughter, Journey, has been at Armenta Academy for only a few months, and already her speech has improved significantly. The combination of Armenta's method and Mrs. Harms' teaching has been incredibly successful. Through speech paired with movement, sounds, phonics, and language development, Journey is practicing articulation and building her vocabulary. Finding this school has been a true blessing. It took months and a fair amount of research to find a suitable after-school program for Bronx. We toured a few, but no other place felt ideal for my son until we found Armenta Learning Academy. Since the first day Bronx has been happy and excited about attending the Academy. Our experience at Armenta Learning Academy has been nothing but very positive for Bronx and his educational growth. In a short period, he has shown much improvement in his speech development as well as his progress with his cognitive skills. I am very proud of each goal (big or small) that he has met while attending. I am very appreciative of the teachers communication with me on his daily progress as well as their constant kindness, patience, and the one-on-one attention given to Bronx to assist in his learning needs. I cannot wait to see how much more he achieves in the next few months!

Gosh, where do I start? I wanted to start Alexis in something new this year. I wanted to start her in more academics, other than me at home. I wanted help, I needed help. I was referred to Armenta Learning Academy by my charter school, and even though it was further than I wanted to drive, I couldn't be happier. At Armenta Learning Academy Alexis has excelled in her spelling, writing, reading, and math. The teachers Alexis has gotten to work with are fantastic. They work with her on her level and they make learning fun. They have taken the time to get to know her, they listen to me, and they are gentle. They even include her in extra classes, so she can meet new friends, and most importantly, she loves it. She progresses each week, and they dedicate so much time to her. Thank you Armenta family!

I'm so glad we found Armenta Learning Academy. My son, Nolan has been going there for help with Reading Comprehension and Math and we are so happy with his progress. He's been working with Mrs. Harms and she is absolutely wonderful, kind, and enthusiastic in what she does. Mrs. Harms is so sweet. I'm glad Nolan has the opportunity to be working with her. We are so happy to have found the Armenta Learning Academy. Our son has truly benefited not only from the academic help but even more so from the mentorship and support received from Mr. Smith. In a short time he has already gained some very useful tools that will benefit him his entire school career. We came to ALA looking for help, mostly for reading comprehension, and for communication. Mr. Smith helps him with these and so much more. He not only provides learning, but also a natural and relaxed environment where he can develop the skills he needs for social interaction and communication. He has gained new friends here too. ALA gives Mikhos a chance to grow into his full potential. They teach what kids need academically, and they also help develop skills which are not easy to learn. Mikhos, I am very proud of your strong work ethic and grit. Even when things get difficult, you power through. Ms. Henderson has been a pleasure to work with. Liam is always very happy to go to tutoring and can’t wait to get there. She is enthusiastic and has taken all of my suggestions to help Liam. She has also come up with different ways to get him to learn, in a positive, fun, low stress environment. Liam is a very visual, hands on learner. Although he can be difficult to teach, he enjoys learning with Ms. Henderson. This lets me know she has been able to relate to him through her different methods. She communicates very well with me and always lets me know how Liam has been doing. We come up with ideas in a collaborative manner, which I appreciate. We have had a very good experience here.

My daughter Charlotte started coming to the Armenta Learning Academy over the summer to help with her speech and language development. Julie and her staff have truly been amazing! She has made so much progress with her teacher Ms. De Silva and enjoys coming here to learn. Although our focus was on speech development, her teacher Ms. De Silva has also been working with her on her writing skills and fine motor development. Our experience at Armenta Academy has been exceptional. The teachers are truly invested in my child's education and her growth as a learner. Adjustments are made as needed to meet the needs of the student. Small class sizes and leveled learning have enabled Sami to gain confidence in her learning abilities. In addition to a positive academic approach, Sami has grown socially and emotionally. The small class sizes and variation of students has taught Sami to strive for success and to have compassion for those that are doing the same regardless of any challenges they have. Sami looks forward to class and enjoys the extra curricular activities as well, especially the archeological artifacts and reflects on facts she has learned often. We have 2 children at Armenta Learning Academy and we couldn't be happier. Mr. Smith truly connects with both of them and has instilled a high level of confidence in their school work. His knowledge across all subjects is exceptional. He works well with each student on all levels and aptitudes. Armenta Learning Academy has exceeded our already high expectations. I have to tell everyone how excited I am about, Armenta Learning Academy! We were referred there by our charter school -Excel. Our son visits weekly, to enhance and expand his math lessons. Math is a strength for him but needs more stimulation than he was getting. Armenta is a wonderful place with a supportive, flexible, knowledgeable and friendly staff. We love the always happy and positive founder, Mrs. Armenta and Mr. Smith is a very interesting guy and a wealth of knowledge! Even though we chose the academy mainly for math, our son is exposed to all other subjects. He gets to learn at his own pace and the staff/teachers know just how far to push and challenge him. This is a great place for students of all ages, any length of tutoring, home school enrichment or focused instruction. our son always enjoys going there and he says, ‘its a great place for home schoolers to hang out with other kids.

I just wanted to take a moment and give a HUGE thank you on behalf of my 8th grader, from the bottom of our hearts. Mr. Smith started tutoring my daughter in Algebra and in only 10 2-hour sessions (5 weeks), her grade went from a 56% to a 79.4% final grade in the class - almost a B! - more than I could have dreamed! She even scored 100% on her last chapter test! Mr. Smith is a wonderful tutor, patient, easygoing, gives gentle yet firm direction and really helped my daughter find her a love of math and success again. He's worth every penny and then some!

My freshman daughter had F's and D's and no interest in school when I met Mrs. Armenta and Mr. Smith. I had already lost hope and was at the end of my rope. Now, two months into the program, my daughter has completed 2 subjects with good grades and a great attitude! All my expectations were surpassed by the results we are getting. She is a different student now, more expressive, more confident and she smiles often, too. Mr. Smith not only teaches academics, but he also builds up his students and teaches moral and social values. I am one happy parent!

I LOVE ARMENTA LEARNING ACADEMY! I love Mr. Smith and how patient he is with Ari. It's funny to see them together from years ago when Ari was younger and smaller until now. I love when Mr. Smith shares much needed, meaningful life lessons to Ari. It's good for Ari to be introduced to those life lessons in addition to his regular school work. Armenta Academy and Mr. Smith have changed the trajectory in his confidence and his academics and success. Will loves coming 3 days a week to focus on upcoming and long term assignments and goals. Will has turned a big corner on 5th grade math and Mr. Smith is able to help Will model certain math problems to understand concepts, become independent, and initiate his work. We are so glad we found ALA. Will also made the honor roll and we are so excited and impressed. He's a changed boy. Armenta Learning Academy is an excellent place for your children. They have great teachers who are very caring. You can tell they love what they do. They always go above and beyond for their students. Every child I've seen there is very happy to be there. It's great that they have such a wide age range of students.
